CRISP Contribution To The Scientific Knowledge Progress On Coral Reefs (2005-2007)

This report presents the results obtained within the framework of the CRISP programme in terms of progressing knowledge on the structure and functioning of coral reefs for the years 2006 and 2007. It gathers newly achieved understanding of coral reefs on a general level and at the scale of the Pacific. It is not a report on CRISP activities per se but a report on its contributions to fundamental knowledge on coral reefs.

Pacific Year of the Reef

The CRISP is a major partner in the SPREP's 2008 Pacific Year of the Reef campaign. CRISP attended the official launch of the campaign at the French Embassy in Vanuatu.

CRISP supports the creation of the world's largest Marine Protected Area in Pacific Ocean

As part of its contribution to the CRISP, Conservation International, in partnership with New England Aquarium, supports the creation of the World's Largest Marine Protected Area Created in Pacific Ocean (410,500-square-kilometer (158,453-square-mile)). More information
